Celebrating Earth Day 2026 at the American University of Nigeria
Joining fellow NGOs and AUN staff for an inspiring exhibition themed "Our Power, Our Planet" — a reminder that meaningful impact comes from working together.
Earth Day 2026 — American University of Nigeria, Yola · Theme: Our Power, Our Planet
Today, we had the privilege of joining other NGOs and the dedicated staff of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) at an inspiring exhibition and commemoration of Earth Day 2026. Themed "Our Power, Our Planet," the event brought together environmental advocates, civil society organizations, and the wider AUN community for a day of reflection, collaboration, and action.
Representing the Climate Earth Ecological and Environmental Conservation Foundation (CEEECF), it was a valuable moment to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our collective commitment to protecting the environment. The event featured an eco-friendly products exhibition, interactive educational displays, and opportunities for cross-sector networking that we believe will continue to bear fruit long after the event itself.
"The collaboration and passion demonstrated by all present serve as a reminder that meaningful impact comes from working together."
The occasion connected CEEECF with organizations like the Nigeria Local Coalition Accelerator (NLCA) and several other NGOs who are equally committed to sustainable development and climate resilience. Sharing our work, learning from others, and identifying areas for future collaboration reinforced exactly why events like Earth Day matter beyond symbolic gestures — they are active platforms for building the alliances needed to drive real change.
Earth Day 2026 reminded us that the environment is not a single organization's responsibility. It belongs to all of us. The dedication in that room — from students, faculty, fellow advocates, and community members — speaks to a growing groundswell of climate consciousness in northeastern Nigeria that CEEECF is proud to be part of.
Let's continue to take action for our planet — not just today, but every day.
