CEEECF Field Mobilization Coordinators en route to riverine communities — Adamawa & Taraba States

In line with our core mission of fostering community resilience, social empowerment, and democratic accountability, the Climate Earth Environmental Conservation Foundation (CEEECF) carried out a targeted voter registration awareness and mobilization intervention during the 2026 registration window across select riverine and underserved communities in Adamawa and Taraba States.

Deploying teams via motorized river craft to navigate remote waterlogged corridors and hard-to-reach settlements, our field advocates conducted direct door-to-door and community-level awareness sessions. Carrying advocacy messages including "MY PVC MY POWER" and "REGISTER, DECIDE, VOTE, NOT FIGHT, PROTECT YOUR MANDATE", CEEECF worked to ensure that geographical isolation does not deprive citizens of their constitutional right to vote.

The 2026 voter registration awareness and mobilization intervention supported 986 eligible citizens to register — with 835 in Adamawa State and 151 in Taraba State.

This represented 1.94% of Adamawa’s 43,000 registrations, 0.32% of Taraba’s 47,417 registrations, and 1.09% of the combined 90,417 registrations across both states.

"Despite targeting select communities with limited resources, the results highlight the strong potential of grassroots mobilization and civil society partnerships to complement INEC and expand democratic participation."

— CEEECF Voter Mobilization Field Report, 2026

By engaging directly with frontline communities that often face logistical hurdles during voter registration exercises, CEEECF demonstrated how civil society partnerships can effectively bridge access gaps, boost civic literacy, and support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring an inclusive electoral process.

Grassroots Riverine Outreach & Access

Utilizing water transport equipment and safety gear, our field teams traversed remote riverine channels in Adamawa and Taraba to reach isolated settlements. By meeting citizens where they live, we reduced transportation barriers that previously prevented community members from accessing voter registration centers.

Complementing INEC & Expanding Participation

Civil society plays a vital role in expanding the reach of national electoral institutions like INEC. By offering logistical support, information dissemination, and registration guidance, CEEECF contributed to securing 1.09% of all new registrations across both states despite working in high-barrier locations.

Non-Violent Civic Engagement & Peacebuilding

Every voter mobilization session incorporated peacebuilding messaging ("Register, Decide, Vote, Not Fight, Protect Your Mandate"). We emphasized that voting is a constructive, peaceful tool for local development, climate justice, and effective governance.

Moving forward, CEEECF remains committed to sustaining civic education initiatives and expanding partnerships with local stakeholders, community leaders, and electoral bodies to ensure every voice is counted and every community empowered.
